The Douglas County Sheriff’s Posse is comprised of volunteers who assist the Sheriff’s Office. The Posse assists with large public events, crime scenes, structure fires and other major incidents. Various groups request the assistance of the Posse throughout the year.
The Sheriff's posse meets the 1st Tuesday of every month.
If you would like to request the Sheriff’s Posse assistance, a request form can be obtained at the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office, or a request form can be downloaded above. Please submit your request two (2) months in advance of your event. The request will be reviewed and you will be notified whether it's approved or not.
To be a part of the Sheriff’s Posse you must be 21 years old, and have a current physical. Applications shall be confined to persons residing in Douglas County, MN currently, and for at least the past year.
