Notary Public Commission Registration
To become a Notary Public in Minnesota, or to renew or update your existing commission, you must apply to the Minnesota Secretary of State.
When you receive your Notary Commission Certificate from the Secretary of State, it must be filed with the county in which you reside.
You must appear in person and bring the following items:
- Notary Commission Certificate from the Minnesota Secretary of State
- Do not sign it until you appear in person
- Government-issued photo ID with current address
- $20.00 filing fee (cash, check or credit card accepted)
