How do I get a Background Check on Myself or Someone else?
Law enforcement is limited by state and federal law as to the type of backgrounds that can be performed on individuals for private, non-law enforcement purposes.
We can do a local record check for any public records held by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office. For records created by other agencies within our jurisdiction you must contact those agencies for their records.
Requests for any private information must be accompanied by a signed/notarized Informed Consent Form, a government issued photo ID and be handled in person.
There is a $3.00 charge per name for our local Sheriff’s Office background check.
