The park division is responsible for planning and maintaining parks and trails at the county government level. See the Parks Road Map page for locations of our 7 parks.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS:
Can I reserve a park? You can't reserve an entire park, but you can reserve a picnic shelter here.
Is camping allowed? Chippewa Park has a public campground. The fee is $30.00 per night. Camping is not permitted in the other parks. Exceptions are made for youth groups such as scouts and 4-H clubs. You can reserve a campsite here.
What time do the parks open? The parks are open every day between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 10:30 p.m.
PARK ADMINISTRATION:
The Douglas County Park Division is administered by the Board of County Commissioners. A Park And Recreation Facility Ordinance was adopted in 1992.
