Roads & Bridges

Douglas County Public Works conducts construction and maintenance on county highways to insure a safe and efficient system for the traveling public. The county system consists of 550 miles of roadway and 58 bridges, which includes bridges on township roads.

***Notice of Transportation Sales and Use Tax: On April 15, 2014, the Douglas County Board of Commissioners adopted Resolution Number 14-25 which established a 1/2% Local Option Sales Tax for Transportation per Minnesota Statute 297A.993.  This tax is administered by the MN Dept. of Revenue and the revenue is dedicated to fund specific Douglas County road projects.  The tax became effective on October 1, 2014.
