Location: 12058 Fairfield Creek Road NE - Belle River Township

Complainant/Victim: Elizabeth Marie Drexler, Age 64 of Hastings, MN

Case Details:

On 11/09/2024 at 9:33am, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received a call of a female who had fallen by her deer stand, and broke her arm. As Deputies and first responders were arriving it was learned that the female and her hunting partner were approximately 1 mile into the woods when the female had tripped and broke her arm. With the assistance of Minnesota DNR, Carlos First Responders and North Memorial Ambulance, we were able to backboard the female out of the woods safely. An adult female was was transported to Alomere Health with non life threatening injuries.

Assisting on scene were the Carlos First Responders, Minnesota DNR and North Memorial Ambulance.  

While these hunters were properly clothed to deer hunt, the Douglas County Sheriff's Office and Minnesota DNR would like to remind everyone that all hunters and trappers in the field during the open firearms/muzzleloader deer seasons must display blaze orange or blaze pink on the visible portion of the person's cap and outer clothing above the waist, excluding sleeves and gloves.
