Cade Joseph Carlson, Age 21 of Garfield, MN
Details: On January 21st at 01:15 am, Douglas County Dispatch received a 911 call regarding a fire underneath a deck. The caller, Karen Carlson, reported that her son Cade had returned home from a relatives house and upon pulling into the driveway had noticed a small fire underneath the deck that was attached to the home. Immediately after this, the call to Douglas County Dispatch was placed. All parties were able to get out of the house and no injuries were reported. Deputies arrived on scene and attempted to extinguish the fire with extinguishers, but were not successful. The Garfield Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire. The deck and house sustained damage. The cause of the fire is believed to be a heat lamp that was placed near a straw pile and blown down by the heavy winds.
