WHAT WE DO:
The Douglas County License Bureau provides prompt efficient service to issue and renew drivers licenses, process registration renewals and transfer vehicle titles. It also has two new services!
Manuals for CDL, Class D, and Motorcycle licenses are now on sale at the License Bureau. The CDL manual is $10, the Class D and motorcycle manuals are $5 each.
People can also now take the written Minnesota Driver's License Exam at the Douglas County License Bureau. This service is available Monday through Thursday 8:30a.m. - 10:30a.m. and 1:30p.m. - 3:30p.m. The fee is $10.

We have a new location!
You will find us in the Douglas County Administration Building. That's at 821 Cedar Street in Alexandria There is plenty of parking in the lot located on the west side of the building off Cedar Street. Please use that.
Our office will continue to serve members of the public with their licensing and transfer needs. No appointments are necessary.
A drop box is also located in the parking lot off of Cedar Street for those who prefer to renew their tabs without getting out of their vehicle. Simply fill out the form from the state, enclose a check and place it in the drop box.
