Shoreland: Zoning District Regulations

Purpose

To protect and regulate the use and development of the shorelands of public waters and thus preserve and enhance the quality of surface waters, conserve the natural environmental values of shorelands, and provide for the wise use of waters and related land resources.

Any new livestock operations in a shoreland district will require either a conditional use permit or a variance. Existing operations may continue to operate as described in their registration file. If you have been housing livestock in a shoreland area and have not been required to register, voluntary registration is strongly recommended. This will preserve your right to keep livestock and serve as proof that there has been livestock on the property. If you have any questions please contact the County Feedlot Officer.
