Case Details:
On 3/30/2025 at 1734 hours, the Douglas County Dispatch Center received a 911 call regarding a fire at 2362 County road 63 NE. Deputies responded to scene and observed a large amount of smoke exiting the chimney and other vents on the roof of a house. All occupants were able to exit the home.
The caller stated he had smelled excessive smoke and stated the attic was full of smoke. The Miltona Fire Department and Parkers Prairie Fire Department were also dispatched to the scene and were able to safely contain the fire. The house sustained moderate damage due to the large amount of smoke in the attic.
It is unknown how the fire started at this time. There is no foul play is suspected. No other structures were damaged and there were no injuries reported. Responding agencies included the Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Miltona Fire Department, Parkers Prairie Fire Department, and Parkers Prairie Ambulance.
