Case Details:
On 10/16/24 at 10:44am the Douglas County Sheriff's Office received 911 calls about a house fire on County Road 10 near Bird Lake Rd NE. Sheriff’s deputies, Osakis Fire, and North Memorial ambulance responded to the scene.
Deputies learned the homeowners were inside when they noticed a fire on their attached deck, in the area of the hot tub. The flames quickly spread to the rest of the house. All occupants were able to make it outside.
The Osakis Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire. The house appears to be a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation by the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office and the MN State Fire Marshal.
