The Sheriff's Office has had an increase in alcohol related incidents in the past couple months. Per Minnesota state statute, a driver under the influence of alcohol is almost always primarily responsible for an accident involving others, regardless of the circumstances. That means, even if you didn't cause the accident, you will be held civilly and criminally liable for the accident if you are under the influence of alcohol or a controlled substance.

Please plan ahead or call for a sober ride. It only takes one mistake to significantly alter many lives.

The names of those facing criminal charges is held until a judge has reviewed the information and determined probable cause existed for the arrest.

Officer: Sgt. Daryl Giese, #215
